I dreamt of a menagerie of dream creatures and children. Chris Berens is a painter from Amsterdam who began his career as an illustrator and these works were part of an exhibit called The White Ones displayed at Jaski Art Gallery back in June of 2009. Coincidentally, Berens will be having his New York debut at the Sloan Fine Art Gallery on December 16th 2009. His themes represent fantastic environments, celestial menageries of beasts, Saint-like Madonnas and lost children influenced by Golden Age Dutch painting. Aren’t they Bosh-like? Gardens bountiful of all that is feathery and furry’s delight. Dixie Rose
