Peter Jensen establishes continuous evolution in his fashion sense. He is unafraid in sharing just how far we could go in layering a plethora of knits, blazers and trousers. He shows us how sometimes opposite patterns such as pinstripes and florals are to be worn together because anything is possible in fashion. If you disassemble his collages each piece can stand on its own, suitable for either an outdoor sunny day at Central Park wearing your covetted Linda Farrow or Raf Simmons shades, or the killer blazer for an important advertising pitch you’ve been working on for three months. What’s more interesting to me about this evocative collection is that is was inspired by his Aunt Jytte, Greenland and the seventies. Nonetheless we can see how this nostalgic theme, fused with futuristic nuances pushes boundaries in our present. His popping floral blazers are a force to be reckoned with, ’cause we all know not everyone can pull this off. But in New York many can defy and change minds when the time comes to mix it all up, ’cause you’re just tired of wearing what everyone else is simply because it’s what’s in style for that season.
