Louisville, KY born David Cook is an impressive, self-taught, color blind artist with cunning inspiration. His work is exquisite in elaborate detail and rich in a fusion of themes of mythology, heavy metal music and a personal friendship with a dominatrix whose stage name is “Teresa Nasty”. This series, Epic Battles (On The Mountain of Dawn), was created by melding illustration, stenciling, and paper cutting techniques. A tale of love, hate, sex, and death between a high priestess, a two-headed king, and their corresponding clans of fantastic beast-like, skull headed creatures. His characters look and act like Greek Gods, petty and jealous. His use of color is food for the eyes indeed. Dixie Rose
